Consumer loan financing program available for residential geoexchange systems
The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition and TD Canada Trust set up a program in January 2008 (36KB PDF) to help consumers finance residential geoexchange systems. In April 2008, interest rates for the program were reduced (20KB PDF) due to reductions in Canada’s prime lending rate.  
Hot spots in Ontario could have geothermal potential
While British Columbia may be closest to developing geothermal energy, areas near Lake Erie, Ottawa and Peterborough may have some potential as well.  
Winnipeg redevelopment warming to geothermal heat pumps
A Winnipeg developer is using earth energy to heat 18 buildings in a redevelopment program involving two apartment blocks and 16 townhouses. Six of the buildings are brand new while the others are being renovated and retrofitted with the heat pumps.
